Counselling

How counselling can help

There are times when life simply becomes difficult. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or loss. Or perhaps life feels stuck and you’re not entirely sure why.

Counselling offers a safe, confidential space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences together. As we begin to understand what has shaped your life, we can also begin to discover new ways of moving forward.

Issues I can help with

Counselling can be helpful for many different challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Low mood and depression

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Grief and loss

  • Life transitions

  • Work stress and burnout

  • Identity and purpose

  • Childhood experiences and their impact on adult life

  • Personal growth and emotional wellbeing

Every person’s story is unique. Rather than focusing on symptoms or individual problems, I seek to understand the whole person and the experiences that have shaped who they are today.

My approach

I believe that meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely heard and understood.

Every person brings a unique life story, so I don't believe there is a single approach that suits everyone. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs.

My practice is particularly informed by psychodynamic and attachment theory. Together we can explore how earlier experiences may continue to influence the way you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to life's challenges today.

Alongside developing greater insight, I also help clients find practical ways of moving forward with increased confidence, clarity, and hope.

Above all, I aim to offer a relationship in which you feel accepted, understood, and supported as we work together towards lasting change.

Sessions

Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are currently offered online via secure Zoom throughout the UK.

The fee for each session is £60. If you're unsure whether counselling is right for you, an initial conversation provides an opportunity to ask questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

Our first meeting gives us the opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling, discuss what you hope to achieve, and decide together whether we're the right fit to work together.

If we choose to continue, sessions are usually held weekly, providing a consistent and supportive space for reflection, growth, and change.

Online counselling is available to clients across the UK and internationally, excluding the USA and Canada and subject to local professional and regulatory requirements.

Why choose LIFENUP?

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision. While qualifications and experience are important, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful outcomes.

My aim is to offer more than simply a place to talk. I seek to create a relationship in which you feel genuinely understood, accepted, and supported as you work towards lasting change. Whether you are facing a particular challenge or simply feel that life could be different, I would be privileged to walk alongside you on that journey.

Before committing to therapy, I offer a free online conversation of up to 30 minutes. It gives us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you here, answer any questions, and decide together whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue.
